Text Box: “Do all the good you can to all the people you can in all the ways you can.”                                           -John Wesley
- John Wesley

"Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. And he was told, 'Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.' But he said to them, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it." - Luke 8:19-21

Faith and Works Go Hand in Hand

We are a people saved through faith. It is through work that faith finds expression. James tells us that faith without works is dead and John Wesley, a founder of the Methodist movement and the center's namesake, saw that true faith could not help but bear works which are the fruit of repentance. Wesley understood that there are two types of works. Works of piety and works of mercy. Works of piety such as prayer, fasting, and scripture study, come from and lead us deeper into our love of God. Works of mercy such as feeding the hungry or providing shelter, stem from our love of neighbor. * We at the Wesley Center invite you to work out your faith with us.
